Live forecast tracker

Will the S&P 500 finish up or down? Here is our AI's call.

Every 30 minutes, around the clock while S&P futures trade, and every 2 hours over the weekend, our forecasting agent reads the tape and calls the direction of the S&P 500 for today's close and the next session's close, with its reasons.

Why the model thinks so

The evidence behind the latest call, in the model's own words: what argues for it, what argues against, and the level that would flip it.

    How it works

    1

    It reads the tape

Every 30 minutes it pulls the S&P 500's price action through SPY, the ETF that tracks it, including pre-market and after-hours trading, S&P futures overnight, market breadth, the economic calendar, upcoming earnings and the news. Over the weekend, when nothing trades, it checks the news every 2 hours for anything that could move the open.

    2

    It makes two calls

Up or down by today's 4:00 PM close, and up or down by the next session's close, each with a confidence estimate. Direction only: no price targets.

    3

It updates as the tape moves

Half an hour later it reads the market again and either holds its call or changes its mind. "How the call moved" shows every change over the last 24 hours.

    • We follow the S&P 500 through SPY, the ETF that tracks it, so the prices shown are SPY's. A today's-close call says whether it will finish the day above or below its price when the call is made. A next-session call compares the next 4:00 PM close with the last one, across weekends and holidays.
    • Prices on this page are live, refreshed about once a minute. The model reads the same live data when it makes each call.
    • These are research forecasts, published for education. They are not advice and never a suggestion to buy or sell anything.
